Amazing

I had a fandom friend over for yesterday/today (May 8 and 9) and it was great fun. Yesterday, we went to Trinity College to see the Book of Kells and we ended up taking a tour, which was enormous amounts of fun, and seeing the Brian Baru exposition in the Old Library, then had dinner then watched Amazing Spider-Man 2. Today we wanted to go see Dublin Castle, but we missed our bus stop and didn't have time, so we had shawarma instead.

In which I talk about Amazing Spider-Man 2 )
There's one mid-credit scene and it's about X-Men. It's either footage for Days of Future Past or a teaser for Mystique getting her own movie. I get a feeling it's option a.

I went to cinema to see it with a friend who was going in cold (he had only seen the trailer) while had read the trilogy.

We both liked it and the only question he had was about something was left deliberatly ambiguous, imho. So not having read the book(s) is not an obstacle to enjoying it.

Spoilers for both book and movie )

TL;DR I enjoyed it, the adaptation was great and I'll probably go see the next one.

Hi everyone!

I made public a few (fic) entries for the Friending meme, so feel free to poke around.

By the way, here's where my username comes from. Yes, because I am totally a vampire, yes.

Also, people I said I would write/draw/do something for, or even mentionned something, could you remind me? I'm making a to do list (I'll write you something if you ask me).

Not dead

Now that I have both the time and the internet to do this, let me tell you about the last 2 weeks.

Prom: There was a problem with the tux: they hadn't registered the reservation so I couldn't get one, but I made do with some of what was in my closet, which turned out pretty okay.

I was half an hour late, but still the first one there.

Prom was fairly alright, except at the end when I had to cheer up 2 or 3 different depressed people, get shouted on by another (and told to excuse her because she had a "good excuse", which quite frankly wasn't and goddammit she told me to "FUCK OFF" twice when I was just asking if she was okay, and AAAAAAAAAARRGggggggggggggggghhhhhhhhhhhh....), and had to take care of a drunken, throwing-up friend of someone in my class whose name I don't even know.

The next Monday I had to get an MRI for my ankle problem. Like the X-ray and the echography it didn't show anything.

So I'm going to have a needle inserted in my foot to inject me with a cocktail of anesthetics and painkillers next Friday.

Also exams, EXAMS, EXAAAAAAAAAAAAMS, somebody save me please (or build me a time-machine).

You know what? My ankle was supposed to be fixed by now.  Except it's not. It's actually worse than ever and I have to go get an X-Ray and an echography because that's "unusual".

In other news, my friend who had left home is now back in school and back home, I feel like punching some of my classmates in the head especially two of them, exams are coming up, so are holidays,"Sherlock Holmes" looks like a good movie, a friend just bought a (genuine) Swedish army coat (now we match!), I have to beta another friend's poems and short stories, my mom is done watching re-runs of Friends and I love my Physics teacher's tie. Same old, same old.

What about you?

Just so you guys know I'm not dead, it's just that RL has been... difficult lately.

This is due mostly to exams and my ankle getting twisted.

ALSO, one of my best friends has disappeared almost 2 weeks ago.

Due to family/personal reasons, I am going to have a very spotty access to Internet/a computer for next couple of weeks.

I apologise in advance if it is going to look like I'm dead, and for not talking to you guys. I'm going to miss you, because you're all awesome.

Hopefully, this won't show too much. (Lunchtime breaks, anyone?)

Berlin Wall

You guys probably know that this the 20th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin wall.

As usual, I didn't doodle anything relating to "current" events today. I had thought I would, but no [livejournal.com profile] steampowers had to eat my brain.

Also I went to see 'Le Concert' yesterday with P.A, and it was FABULOUS. Go see it. NOW.

See, today was supposed to be bowling with friends for my birthday. Most told me they couldn't come. And by most I mean all but one or two.

So, instead I ended up watching Inglorious Basterds with Catacombs (both of us had already seen it). The original plan was to go see District 9 but we got there late and the cinema was full anyway.

This evening I was supposed to go see "District 9" at the theater with friends.

I organised everything: the day, the place, the movie (open to change, mind you) because I know that those losers always forget about me when they plan stuff (like the Rocky Horror Picture Show which I learned on the day itself was happening therefore I already had plans. (Doctor appointment.) Serously Guys! Would it kill you to tell me about that stuff?) Hell, I even accounted for Catacombs's inability to plan more than 2 days ahead. And everyone of them knew about it for about a week.

So I send them a mail to make it official. Of the half a dozen people I sent that mail to, only 2 responded: a no and a maybe (from Catacombs). On the day itself, I asked her if she was going to come. She said maybe (Apparently, now, she can't plan 2 hours ahead. Dear God, woman! Get organized already). Straggler also said maybe, but most likely not.

As I was unwilling to drag myself halfway across Paris for someone who might not come, I said screw this and organised something else. More like I latched on someone else's plan, actually, but she was fine with it, so who cares.

As I was dragging myself to the get-together place, it started raining. THERE WAS NO ONE THERE. So I got back home and got utterly drenched, like all the way to my underwear or something. From a 15 minute walk. Guh.

Off to dinner with the family now.
