CURRENTLY AIRING SHOWS

Star Wars Rebels
: S03E10: MAUL!!!
I am endlessly entertained by Maul and I don't even know why. I'm really hoping we get to see him, Sabine and the darksaber interact (not necessarily all at once).
Also. Dude. WRITING IN BLOOD. Creepy. Quit it.

The Librarians: S03E04: The twist was quite well done, even though I guessed most of it ahead of time. I VASTLY prefer Jenkins to Flynn. And awwwwwwwwwwww the Library cares!

Legends of Tomorrow: S02E07: Have not caught up.

NOT CURRENTLY AIRING

Luke Cage: S1E010: No progress.

Miraculous Ladybug: S01E17 and S01E18: I was very surprised that the teenaged goth's supervillainous (semi-idealised?) villainous alter ego was wearing a bright hot oink tutu and heels, up until there was aline from someone else saying similar to "I don't know how much longer I stand to stay in this body" which huh. Okay. It makes some sort of sense now as a dysporia thing. *reads too much into things* Also, I was suprisingly into girl!Chat Noir/Ladybug. Show remains very cute.

Nirvana in Fire: E06: Have made no progress.

I am also watching the series finale of Person of Interest on TV. SPOILERS I am oddly disappointed that not everybody died -- idk, I was looking forward to some prime "heroic sacrifice falls, everybody dies" stuff. There was some heroic sacrifice but not all and it's just not the same, man. I might feel different if I was more attached to the characters. Then again, I might not. IDK OKAY. Apparently lately I can only enjoy two sorts of media: all of the tragedy and none of the tragedy. Very Specific Levels Of Sadness. Heh. There's always Rogue One, hopefully. END SPOILERS

And now I am writing ALL THE YULETIDE.

Missed a week there. oops.

CURRENTLY AIRING SHOWS

Star Wars Rebels
: S03E08 & S03E09: Those two eps focused mostly on Ezra and Kanan, who I don't really care for. (Quite frankly at this point the only explanation for Ezra's Hondo-related stupidity is that loves has blinded him.) I totally called the revel in "Inside Man", but I thought they'd leave it for the finale. But it was super well done! I loved everyone's reactions from Zeb's apologectic "I didn't kill him, so I guess we're friends?????" to Hera still not trusting Kallus to Chopper's enthusiasm. ALSO NEXT EPISODE WE GET MAUL YES

Lucifer: S02E10 & S02E11: Also a show with a reveal that was well done but came unexpectedly early. The show also keeps throygh expected characters into situation where they have to interact and it's great -- Dr Linda and Lucifer's mom? DAN and Lucifer's mom? Amenadiel and CHLOE's mom? Who also apparently knows Maze, I want to see that! I continue to really enjoy this stupid show and really look forward to the second half of the season.

The Librarians: S03E02 & S03E03: Also quite fun. I feel like this season is slightly too manichean in its views of Egyptian and Norse myths and/or that our interpretations don't quite match up. I prefer my Frost Giants not as evil but as amoral forces of nature -- but lol at Stone telling a roomful of Frost Giants his favourite natural disaster was global warming at their reactions. I'm going to headcanon that Anubis was under Apep's influence in the werewolf episode.

Legends of Tomorrow: S02E07: This was the final episode of some sort of crossover I didn't follow. I ship Sara/Kara now, idc that they're in different universe.

Class: S01E07 & S01E08: Episode 7 is made of tropes I love (people coming to care about each other despite differing interests! PEOPLE MEETING THEIR GODS AND RAGING AT THEM) so that was amazing. It's even a fucking roadtrip episode, in a way. My favourite of the eps this season. The season finale was also quite good, if heartbreaking. There's something almsot poetic in Charlie having to kill April to be able to use the cabinet when she was the one who made it so he didn't have to use it the last time. I thought the show would pull its punch with that and have Charlie's people show up again, but no. MATTEUSZ LIVES! I was so worried about him and Tanya but they both lived!

NOT CURRENTLY AIRING

Luke Cage: S1E010: I feel like I'm watching this more out of obligation that anything by now. I just DO NOT CARE about Diamondback. And there goes the obligatory CAin and Abel reference.

Miraculous Ladybug: S01E03 to S01E16: This show is super cute! And continues to give excellent Paris, despite how empty the streets are (animation budget!). I have vague amorphous thoughts about Paris and this show and this show in general, but for now suffice to say that what I ship most is not the two-pople love square but Alya/Ladybug.

Nirvana in Fire: E06: Have made no progress.

CURRENTLY AIRING SHOWS

Star Wars Rebels
: S03E07: Eh. Teenagers, more teenagers, not enough Sabine and Sato and his nephew don't look related to me (but then I'm bad at faces). Thrawn and Sato's ~worthy adversary~ brief dialogue made me ship it.

Lucifer: S02E09: DR LINDA! Standing up to primordial forces of the universe for her patients <3. Chloe helping Lucifer kill Lux. Maze deliberately embarassing Amenadiel, aw. This show continues to be great fun.

The Librarians: S03E01: IT'S BACK! :D I was worried for a moment that they were going to make Seth the bad guy -- there was a close-up on a dog-headed god carving and I was ready to rant especially since it was Anubis -- but it was Apep, so all is forgiven! (Seth gets a bad rep.) I shoudl have trusted the show more -- after all, it's the show that named Lancelot as the son of Ban. Anyway, Antikythera mechanism!!! I loved Cassandra this episode and Eve and Jenkins and Ezekiel and the Stumpy shoutout, but Jake had my favourite line with "'Pure Evil'? As opposed to 'fake evil'?".

Legends of Tomorrow: S02E06: It's my favourite Western genre: timetravelling western! (Look, there's Back to the Future III, this episode and one other from this show at least, that's three examples, that makes it a genre.) I ended up shipping Sarah/Jonah, ngl -- if nobody writes that fic and calls it "Save a Horse, Ride a Cowboy", I will be very disappointed with fandom.

Class: S01E06: This was a really lovely bottle episode and in real time on top of that! Creepy concepr, really well executed. I loved getting a better view of the characters, including their darkest sides. Matteusz and his dodgy Narnia analogy, awwwwwwwwwww. Quite excited to see what Quill's been up to.

NOT CURRENTLY AIRING

Luke Cage: S1E09: STILL don't care about bloody Diamondback. Especially with his Bible obsession or whatever -- and yet nobody's made an Esau and Jacob reference or even a Cain and Abel one. I spend all the time he's on screen dreading one anyway.  Also, the music from the credits grates on me. I WOULD WATCH HOURS OF MAD SCIENTIST!CLAIRE, THOUGH.

Nirvana in Fire: E06: Have made no progress.

Miraculous Ladybug: S01E02: Have made no progress.

dhampyresa: (MY BIRTHDAY HAS SQUID)
Concerning Doctor Who s9e11, Heaven Sent ).

Concerning The Librarians s1e6 and s2e4, the Apple of Discord and the Cost of Education ).

Concerning Hamilton, Act 1 ).

Concerning Fred Vargas, the French Wikipedia synopsis for L'armée furieuse ended up BLOWING MY TINY MIND when I followed the "Grande Chasse" link. It turns out that what I know as "La chasse du roi Arthur" (King Arthur's hunt) or "l'Ankou et sa charette" (the Ankou and his... cart? wheelbarrow?) depending on whether the wind blows in from inland or from the sea, is actually THE EXACT SAME THING as "The Wild Hunt". WHAT THE FUCK YOU GUYS WHAT THE FUCK.

Concerning this entry, I don't think any of those are terribly spoilery, except the Librarians one.

I'm watching the Librarians by increments of roughly 10 mns and I'll post about the season when I'm finished (someone remind I need to post about the first seasons of Rome and Galavant as well), but I'm watching "And the Apple of Discord" and Dulaque has just been referred to as "the son of Ban". I'm sorry but, Dulaque du Lac? Son of Ban?

He's Lancelot. HE'S FUCKING LANCELOT.

Ten to one this means we're going to get evil!Morgane and I guess that makes Jenkins also of the Knights of the Round Table (cue Monty Python joke) and neither of these are gonna be akward for me at all.
