I'm not sure, honestly. Like, I'll finish writing a fic and then it'll just... sit there, on my hard-drive for no reason. So I guess I just need someone to remind me to post stuff? Idk.

It's more that I can't make myself edit things.

Everything in this post (minus the Iron Man 3 and Hunger Games fix-its) + a kind-of* fic about Loki and Odin's first meeting.

*Long story. It was originally going to be part of a Game of Thrones/Norse myth crossover thing based on a specific bit of the Havamal, but I've given up on that for various reasons. This bit does stand on its own, though -- and is also structured based on the Havamal (iirc).

Those all sound interesting! I'm not as familiar as I'd like to be with most of the fandoms you mention in the linked post, though if you want to post them you should! But mostly I would so very, very love to read the Norse fic!

(And now I want to know more about the given-up-on crossover.)

I don't know if this is your problem, but when I used to have trouble editing, it was because I didn't really know how and thought that somehow the first draft + SPAG fixes + willpower + magic??? = goodfic. Is it possible that's your problem, too? I'm no master of the craft now but I know enough for some purposes and could try to teach you what I know.

(It was going to be called "A Measure of Wisdom" and structured based on these lines from the Havamal:
54. A measure of wisdom | each man shall have,

Whose wisdom wide has grown.

For the wise man's heart | is seldom happy,

It had a framing device of Melisandre talking to the Lord of Light (who is post-Ragnarok!Balder) and then tying various GoT gods and what not to Norse myths. The Drowned God was Njord, iirc. I basically gave up because I no longer feel fannish about GoT.)

Honestly, I don't think my problem is SPAG. My SPAG's fine, it's more bigger picture things I have trouble with? And also just doing the thing.

That is a very interesting idea for a crossover! So after Ragnarok, the "happy ending" is that they all get to be in a George R.R. Martin book? Wow, harsh. Who were the Seven? (Freyja's the Stranger, right? And Gefjun the Maid? Or did you have an entirely different idea?)

Yeah, that's what I thought. You get to a point where, okay, you've handled the Objectively Wrong things and then, you don't really know where to go from there, because after all it's not like you can run Spellcheck-For-Plotholes. That about it? I've been... you could call it studying editing... for a while and I'd know exactly what to try linking you to if you wrote longfic. For stuff as short as the fics of yours that I've read, personally I just run it by someone and ask "this okay? understandable? you had the reaction I intended?" and then post it. How long are the fics you're having trouble figuring out what to do with now? All short? Want me to round up links to some editing resources regardless?

Ca me fait penser que j'ai un post sur Infinite Loop pour toi (pas de spoilers). Et puisque tu as déjà lu le tome 1, j'ajouterai que, scénaristiquement parlant, le tome 2 est beaucoup plus faible. C'est plein de bonnes idées, mais balancées un peu en vrac.

Sinon, si tu veux du bon voyage dans le temps avec du f/f (mais pas en BD, pour le coup), il y a la fic dont j'ai parlé ici.

En fait, ça ne cherche pas particulièrement à se tenir, c'est très abstrait comme BD. Tu l'as probablement déjà un peu ressenti dans le tome 1, mais à un niveau moindre. Au final, je ne sais pas trop quoi en penser. J'ai regardé un peu les commentaires sur différents sites. Il y en a de très positifs et d'autres assez négatifs, mais où tu vois bien que ça vient de gens qui voulaient aimer, pas de trolls. En tout cas, si tu lis le tome 2, je suis très curieuse de la façon dont tu le percevras.
