I have six Do Not Wants: allegory/metaphor of real world politics, incest, rape, child abuse, character death and dysphoria. When these are canon, please don't focus on them. I would also prefer not to have to deal with people losing things important to them and toxic living arrangements, be that family or roomates. Thank you.

On the other hand, there are a lot of things I do want. Here’s a partial list. (I obviously don’t expect you to stick all of these in one story, that would be impossible.)

I would love something set after "Trespass" or during the Clone Wars or during the Empire era. Role-reversal in which the clone army is made of tiny Pantorans and Rex is Senator for Mandalore (or Kamino, not picky).

Hera Syndulla/Maketh Tua
Canon-divergent AU where Tua makes it to the Rebellion. Hera seducing Tua for the Rebellion. Tua seducing Hera for the Empire. Those last two AT THE SAME TIME. Role reversal -- Tua leading the Rebel cell operating out of Ryloth.

I really love the whole chess game/cat-and-mouse dynamic that they have. And Thrawn's weird obsession with Hera' family heirlooms. Hatesex! Role reversal AU! Maybe they have to go on a roadrip!

So I know they tried to kill each other in canon (and one of them succeeded), idc. Hatesex! Role reversal AU! Jedi/Mandalorian tension. Maybe they have to go on a roadrip! Maybe Mace went to Kamino circa AotC instead of Obi-Wan.

Jyn Erso/Mon Mothma
I've been shipping this since the first trailer. Mon's little smile when Jyn went "I rebel"! Anyway, what about a fix-it or maybe a canon-divergent AU. Undercover-as-Imperial!Jyn? Role reversal AU!

Jyn Erso/Rey
Timetravel! Canon-divergence! Battle-hardened Rebellion veteran and hero Jyn Erso giving Rey her kyber crystal pendant for Rey's saber. Stardust and the girl who dreams of stars. Jyn closes her eyes on Scarif and awakens on Jakku. Rey goes to visit Jedha's Holy City.

Jyn Erso/Sabine Wren
Come on, they're the same age and Sabine met Saw. No way have they not met in canon! They would get along famously. Explosions! Make-outs! Beating up Empire goons! Reunion circa-Rogue One. AU in with Jyn survives Scarif!

Ketsu Onyo/Sabine Wren
A long time ago, we used to be friends! Antagonistic femslash or something softer post-Ketsu joining the Rebellion (how'd that happen, btw?). Sabine's art ~feelings~ on any of this. Sabine painting Ketsu's armour.

Leia Organa/Sabine Wren
Young ladies of the Rebellion! Or old ladies of the Resistance. Possibly penpals, either way (with little drawings for each other). Sabine helping Leia setting up the New Republic. Senator Wren/General Organa.

Numa/Sabine Wren
Femslash where they bond over explosions and have betrayed each other for their own goals in the past! Plus I think that there could be something really interesting made out of Numa's relationship with the clones (Boil & Waxer) and Sabine's Mandalorian origin. But mostly explosions and make-outs.

Obi-Wan Kenobi/Asajj Ventress
Pretty sure the entirety of Ventress' interactions with Obi-Wan throughout Clone Wars were one very long Dathomirian courtship ritual, tbh. Clone Wars era hatesex. Post Revenge of the Sith slightly less hate-y sex. Reluctant allies having to work together (again)!

Obi-Wan Kenobi/Darth Maul
Mindgames on Mandalore! AU in which Maul is a Jedi. AU in which Obi-Wan is a Sith. Role reversal AU. Canon-divergent AU in which Obi-Wan doesn't throw Maul down a reactor in TPM and captures him for the Jedi instead. More awkward team-ups with Jedi, à la Twilight of the Apprentice. Cranky old men living on Tatooine -- Maul + Obi-Wan vs Vader on the Death Star!

Phasma/Rey
Antagonistic femslash! Or "Rey is evil" AUs or "Phasma is a Resistance spy" AUs. Role reversal AUs -- Rey the Stormtrooper, Phasma the Jedi-in-training. Phasma finding Rey on Jakku. Phasma leading Rey's interrogation on Starkiller Base. Dramatic removal of masks!

Riyo Chuchi/Ahsoka Tano
They are SO CUTE together, aww. More detective-y team-ups. Fall out from the bombing arc. Riyo being one of Fulcrum's contacts in the Senate -- or Fulcrum having to save the non-Human Sentors because, unfortunately, Palpatine.

Riyo Chuchi/Asajj Ventress
Kidnapping for ransom! Reluctant allies fighting against the Empire! AU in which Riyo is a Jedi! Or in which she's a Sith. Senator Asajj Ventress of Dathomir! (She would be a horrible Senator, it would be hilarious.)

Riyo Chuchi/Mon Mothma
The beginnings of the Rebellion! The later years of the Rebellion -- maybe something set post-Rogue One? I've always wondered how someone could be both an Imperial Senator and a Rebel. How does that even work, schedule-wise?

Steela Gerrera/Ahsoka Tano
AU in which Steela survives. Maybe her brother dies instead, idk. Threesome resolution to the love triangle with Lux. Role reversal -- Jedi Steela helping Togruta insurgents! Secretly Force-sensitive Steela!

Now, I can't fucking write smut, so I had to try and figure out how to write something they might like. Which, when all you have is a smut prompt to go on is not easy. Hopefully I succeeded.

This fic is also part of the reason I've been pretty silent on reading Warhorses by Yusef Komunyakaa lately. The title comes from 'Here, the old masters of Shock and Awe' from said poem anthology and I figured that there probably weren't many people currently reading said book in fandom and what if someone guessed it was me writing the fic WHAT THEN

Summary: Palpatine died in a ship crash. Sixty years later, Rey had to put the War on hold and go rescue her master.

One of the things I wanted to do with this exchange was to treat at least one of: femslash, hero/villain and crosstime ship. At one point I decided to see if there were any requested relationships that fit all three and there was! So I wrote Rey/Asajj Ventress femslash.

I'd originally come up with the idea of Palpatine dying in the crash early in Revenge of the Sith causing Grievous to be in charge of the Separatists and that causing the war to last for decades in order to write Rey/Rex and/or any clone/TFA person pairings, but there weren't any. Rex still gets to be around because I say so, that's why. This is a fun verse and I may end up writing more in it. (In case you're curious: yes, the clones still have the chip for Order 66 implanted.)

Making Rey Anakin's padawan was a given and I loved getting the opportunity to write her as a more traditional kind of Jedi, if not a totally traditional one. My favourite passage I wrote for this exchange in fact relates to Rey, the Jedi and meditation: To Rey, the edge of meditation always felt like being back on Jakku, standing at the top of a dune, nothing to see but endless sand and the unforgiving horizon. It wasn't the vastness of the space between stars that reminded her of her place in the universe -- it was a favoured metaphor of some Jedi, that every Jedi was a star and the Force the galaxy -- it was the desert, immortal and infinite. Every Jedi a grain of sand, the Force the desert.
