Howth reading wednesday treating you?

dhampyresaI went on a hiking trip to Howth with a friend today! It was great fun, except for the bit where my 'war wound' (read: that time I twisted my knee in the Alps back when I was eight or so) started acting up like you wouldn't believe. It's been super weird since last Thursday, but it hasn't hurt as much as today in years. Over than that, we had lunch while watching the sea. I have missed the sea so so so much, seriously. The peninsula was super pretty and the company was great, so have zero regrets.

What are you reading now
The Ring of Solomon, by Jonathan Stroud: I am enjoying this so much! I missed Bartimeus and his irreverence and his footnotes. I LIKE ASMIRA SO MUCH! I am totally rooting for her. (Still misreading Solomon as Salomon.) I am thoroughly creeped out by Ammet, which I think is the whole point, so good job there Mr Stroud! I am worried about Bartimeus as off the events at the end of Part 2, but he'll be alright eventually. I think I ship him and Asmira a little. He thinks she's pretty and is fascinated by her personality! She thinks he's pretty and not at all afraid of him. It would end in tears, but damn if it wouldn't be an interesting ride. I WILL ALSO ACCEPT THEM GOING ON A ROADTRIP. It would be hilarious. I am completely unspoiled for this book and ah, that is so great. I don't mind spoilers, but there's just something about not knowing what happens next that is super awesome. I don't know it's getting to me harder with this book than with, say, the Benjamin Januray ones. It could be that I've just came out of reading a book I had seen the movie off?

Guys, guys, guys! Joanne Harris wrote a prequel to Runemarks (and Runelight) called The Gospel of Loki. I have (very few) problems with the Runemarks books and I loved loved loved Loki (and Odin and Hella and Baldr and and and (sadly no Maddy in this one, though)) in them, so you can bet I will be reading that so hard.
