dhampyresaI have recently finished reading Emily Tesh's Some Desperate Glory.
I really enjoyed it! Here is my review:
1. AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH and also AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH
2. Kyr: Are we the baddies?
Everyone: YES
3. Why is Avi named Avicenna? Everyone else born on Gaea is has a war related named (Valkyr, Victoria, etc) and then there's Avi. Just chilling over there, named after a doctor.
Explaining the title: Tesh comes from fandom (and I know for a fact two of the people in the acknowledgements are also from fandom) hence: go team!
I also liked that the acknowledgements provided a list of (some) reference books on fascism/radicalisation/etc Tesh used for research.
