It feels... odd to call depression "a life-threatening condition", but the truth is sometimes it is. At least for me.

So yeah: not dead, not currently actively suicidal, not really eating (if I don't stop losing weight soon they will throw me out on my ass next time I go give blood and then I wiill really, truly be unredeemably useless), having trouble falling asleep at night and staying awake during the day (㇏(•̀ᵥᵥ•́)ノ), mostly not passively suicidal, still a massive downer. And absolutely unfit for human company. Or non-human company, for that matter.

I don't think you're useless to humans though either, and lots of people are nocturnal.

I think it is very much life-threatening. But I'm glad to hear the suicidal tendencies are holding off, because those are very dismal. I hope you can find something you want to eat soon.
