Is there a word?

Is there a word for the feeling when you have an idea you're really proud of/you think is really good that you haven't seen before so you think it's new, then you see someone else do it (possibly even better than you)? There's gotta be a word, if only in German.

Feeling gazumped might be part of it? But I don't think it encompasses the whole.

(Your version of your idea will always be different and worthwhile -- or at least, that's what I tell myself.)

I did not know the word "gazumped" before! That is definitely part of it, though.

(Oh yeah, in this case the two stories are different genres to start with, I just thought my use of the medium was more innovative than it actually is lol /brat)
