I moved. Technically I am still moving since the new place is still missing a bunch of my stuff, some furniture and a secure internet connection. So I haven't been signing in into anything in a while -- tbh currently posting from my parents' internet because I had a bank thing to deal with. Not sure when I'll get internet; turned out the internet cable is not the internet cable. At least all the lights work now lol

Been spending my time;
- Paralysed and unable to make any decisions.
- Drawing. I keep drawing hands the wrong way around even though I have two. Hopefully this is only because I've been trying more ambitious/complicated poses. Trying my hand at thumbnailing illustrations the past couple days. Interesting. Been doing a sort of Inktober y challenge where I draw a deity from Ancient Egypt a day and ink it using a brush pen to improve my linework. Also no humans for this series. Overall I feel like I'm stretching myself and improving.
- Watching birds. Apparently watching birds makes me happy! Who knew. I especially love it when they walk BEHOLD A MAN or they do the hoppity thing. I have many pictures on my phone of ducks, ravens, sparrows and other aassorted birds. No bluetits yet -- I've seen them and some nest nearby but not been able to take pictures yet. As an aside, what is up with English having multiple bird names following the [colour adjective] + [mammary synonym] formula?
- Taking walks. Snapping pictures of interesting architectural miscellania, petting dogs and hugging the occasional cat :D
- Failing to get my hair cut. The Ramones called they want their hair back.
- Composing dreamwidth posts in my head. I never did post about my Good Omens thoughts, for example, and tbh I'm not sure I will as they are mostly "needed more Horsepeople, yes even as the expense of more Aziraphale and Crowley" and "John of Patmos disapproves of your costuming choices for the Them". I'm going to take a wild guess and assume I am in a vanishingly small minority with those.
- Daydreaming about/planning stuff to do in Dublin for Worldcon. I'll be in the city from 10 august to 25 august.

Due to a string of good fortune, I will be in Dublin at Worldcon too, and due to the lateness of the decision I may not be on any programming, which frees me up to hang out with people! I would love to meet you in person there, maybe grab coffee or something, if you're willing.

I'll be there too, doing the Worldcon/Eurocon double-header. Arriving 6 August, tooling around Ireland until shortly before the convention, up to Belfast for Eurocon, and then back to Dublin before departing for points west. Might there be some time in there where we could meet up?

Oh boy, moving is always a pain in the ass. It's good to hear from you though. Sounds like you've been doing some neat things! Your drawing project sounds cool.

Ughhh, moving. I'm two weeks away from my own move and embroiled in packing, and it is as ever the worst. Good luck with getting internet and also the rest of your stuff in order and in one place!

(I've been reading La Quête d'Ewilan on your long-ago rec, though, and I'm thoroughly enjoying it. Exactly the right level of self-indulgent fun for my current mood and stress levels! I read D'un monde à l'autre some time ago, but recently I discovered that my library has the rest in ebook form, and I'm on Les Frontières de glace.)

I'd say moving house, drawing, planning, etc. demonstrates that you are making decisions, it's probably just not registering with you. ♥

I always assumed the Tit bird family got that name in relation to Titbit as they are really small.

I found it funny that in the US it's "tidbit" and they don't call the birds Tits but rather Chickadees. :D
