Sort of a composite of various versions I've seen floating around.

This year I wrote and posted:
Total number of fics = 15
Total number of words = 36 328
Fandoms = 15
New fandoms = 13
Average fic length = ~2422
Longest fic = 6 587
Shortest fic = 538
Overall Thoughts:
Looking back, did you write more fic than you thought you would this year, less, or about what you'd predicted?
More, especially more original fiction (all unposted). I didn't think I'd be signing up for any exchanges, but I'm glad I did, because that seems to be the only way to get me to post fic.
What pairing/genre/fandom did you write that you would never have predicted in January?
I wasn't reading Locke & Key nor Demon knights last january, so those two for sure. I also wasn't expecting to write something borrowing elements form the Kalevala.
Did you take any writing risks this year? What did you learn from them?
I wrote stuff! I talked to people I didn't know and had them read my stuff! I did NaNoWriMo and won! I learned that people actually want to read my stuff. I also learned that maybe my stuff isn't so bad, after all, and I can reread it without cringing. Also, that I'm pretty good at turning unimportant details into plot-relevant ones.
From my past year of writing, what was....
The leitmotif of the year:
Gen fic, not that I'm surprised. And chosing to be heroes/decent people, too. Also, canon-divergent AUs.
My favorite story this year:
Punica Fides. I just never realised how much I shipped Hannibal/Scipio before.
My best story of this year:
I'm going to go with A day in the afterlife. I think I managed to do exactly waht I wanted to do when I started it.
My most popular story of this year:
The Hawk and the Bat, according to Ao3, with a grand total of 265 hits.
Story of mine most under-appreciated by the universe, in my opinion:
Prom Night! No one reads Locke & Key fic, I guess.
Most fun story to write:
Punica Fides, hands down. i still can't believe how fun this was to write.
Saddest story:
Retrograde, I think.
Story that shifted my own perceptions of the characters:
In Perfect Light. It made me realise that a good part of Steph's character is push-back against trauma.
Hardest story to write:
In Perfect Light, too. Because child soldiers and mind control, basically.
Biggest Disappointment:
I feel like I didn't manage to do either canons justice in 19 steps to restore someone's stolen property.
Biggest Surprise:
How much recption Fully defined got. It's female-centric outsider-pov gen. It's also set in a teashop, which is not a setting I ever thought I'd write.
Most Unintentionally Telling Story:
Reality Warpers Anonyous, in case anyone was ever curious about my thoughts on the Hippocratic Oath.
Favorite Opening Line(s):
The first thing Stephanie thinks as she finds herself floating in the nothing beyond creation is, that’s rude. (from The Hawk and the Bat)
Favorite Closing Line(s):
And if not now, then tomorrow, and if not tomorrow then the day after, and if not then nor any of the days, call on me to tell the story to your daughter and her daughter after her and their daughters after them, for all the days to come and all the ages of the world. (from A day in the afterlife)
Favourite title:
In Perfect Light. I just really love the quote it comes from ("Though my soul may set in darkness, it will rise in perfect light; / I have loved the stars too fondly to be fearful of the night.", Sarah Williams).
Top Scenes from Anywhere You Would Choose to Have Illustrated:
Anything at all, honestly. I've a paticular fondness for the first AU is chapter 2 of Punica Fides and Steph and Kate eating waffles from The Hawk and the Bat. Ive also got an idea for a cover of sorts for In Perfect Light.
Story I haven't yet written, but intend to:
The physics!fic.
Fic-writing goals for 2014:
Finish some WIPs and post them. Write some fic outside of exchanges. Post at least a fic a month. On the original fiction side: Finish and edit the novel I started for NaNoWriMo in 2013. Write another.
