WONDER WOMAN MOVIE!!!

I have to admit that I tend to have reservations about "Hollywood does WW1"*, but this looks like it could be a decent portrayal. "The war to end all wars", my fucking heart.

I'm really hoping this movie's good. Wonder Woman looks great, at least. And the cinematography is gorgeous, so at least it'll be pretty.

* As far as I can tell, the US was 10 minutes late with Starbucks so doesn't realise that it was a fucking slaughterhouse. One in twenty of the people alive in France when the war started died during the war; for soldiers, it was one in every six who died.

[ANGRY TIRADE REDACTED -- I am feeling particularly angry about WW1 lately, for various reasons.]

My particular bugbear is when they try to do WWII (which apparently America won single handed), but yeah.

I couldn't actually sit through Batman v Superman, didn't even make it to Wonder Woman's entrance, but this looks so good; please let it be good!

AHH I hadn't seen the trailer until now... I AM SO GOING TO SEE THIS! Oh my gosh, she looks so awesome. <3

Like you, I had some reservation - US media portrayals of WWI tend to be kind of... uh. But this sure does look cool.

I'm not sure I can cope with Hollywood does WWI for exactly the reasons you give, (plus potentially a whole scad of NOT LOOKING AT POTENTIAL FOR NEW WAR IN EUROPE NONONO*) but tell us what you thought?

*Unless 2017 is a marked improvement on 2016 I may soon not be able to consume any media that isn't pictures of fluffy kittens cuddling OR set on a really distant planet.

Sorry, I'm tired, but I'm not sure what you mean.

My coping strategy with 2016 was to get into Star Wars (prequels era, mostly) because everything might be terrible, but in fic I can fix it, if only for a while.

Sorry, meant: I don't think it is a movie I will go and see at the cinema, because WWI - but if you do go and see it, I'd be interested in hearing what you thought of it.

My comment seemed to be missing a clause or 2 when I read it back which I had intended to type but clearly did not. Bad brain, no biscuit.
