Star Wars spoilers

I've been reading Darths & Droids lately.

It's Star Wars as a roleplaying game campaign(s) and it's really fun. It starts off with two players and a GM, then one player brings his little sister, and so on, until by the point I'm at (episode ~850/half-way through A New Hope) there are six players plus the GM. Two of the players are female and I keep thinking the un-named GM is too, although there's no basis for that. It's pretty true to my experiences as both RPer and GM -- I've met and/or been just about every one of the archetypes the player fall into, which isn't to say the players don't feel like real people, because they totally do.

I am oddly invested in every character in this. Not just the players, but the versions of the Star Wars characters they come up with too. Like, I am totally up for SPOILERS Anakin and Padmé taking over the galaxy. Curse you, Obi-Wan! Why couldn't you just join them >:[ Although Pete's pyrotechnic die made it worth it. /SPOILERS


In other Star Wars related news, I've been rewatching the movies, on account of how I am writing a fic in which ghost!Anakin makes an appearance.

I probably should have expected to get out of Revenge of the Sith shipping Obi-Wan and Anakin, given how much I love the "we used to be on the same side and now we're not" dynamic (and basically, conflicted loyalties in general, yessss) and YET. I spent the whole fight on the lava planet expecting one of them to save the other by, like, force of habit or something. I am super predictable, what can I say.

I didn't expect to end up shipping Obi-Wan and Padmé, but I do. I am also feeling like shipping all three of them is something I could totally get behind. I DON'T KNOW *throws up hands* (I ended up shipping Luke and Han when I rewatched the other trilogy. But I am also still shipping Leia and Han, so basically I am still multishipping all over the place. I can live with that.)


I'll take any/all Star Wars recs people have. I have an odd craving for Anakin + Leia interaction right now, but I'm sure this time tomorrow I'll want something else. (Possibly timetravel? Or Jedi!Leia. Or both.)

Yes that would work amazingly well. Like, basically it'd be a canon AU in which Obi-Wan decided to get Padmé right away instead of fighting Anakin. This has the consequences of both Padmé being alive and Anakin not going Full Vader TM (and he never told Obi-Wan he hated him). So it's Obi-Wan & Padmé on the run, possibly with the kids? or maybe they don't manage to convince anyone that Padmé died but they did manage to convince people the kids are dead while they are in fact with the Organas and Skywalkers? idk but ANYWAY Padmé is running the Resistance and they keep running into Anakin and keep trying to turn him back to the Light while Anakin is all "WE CAN RULE THE GALAXY TOGETHER" and no one is getting much of anywhere (except that Anakin is more and more not seeing why he even listens to Palpatine, because Palpatine isn't even teaching him Force Lightning >:[ ). Eventually "Obi-Wan & Padmé on the run" turns into "Obi-Wan/Padmé on the run" but it's kind of messed up, because even though they love and care about each other they are also pointedly Not Talking About Anakin. Then they meet Anakin again and Anakin finds out and blows his fuse (even though he's been having sort of hate sex with Obi-Wan for years now) because how could Padmé?! And how could Obi-Wan?! And NOW they have the big fight with lightsabers and pyrotechnics. At one point Anakin says "If you say this isn't about me, I'll kill you" to Obi-Wan and means it. The force of it takes him by surprise. He never knew he hated Obi-Wan so much; he never knew he loved Obi-Wan so much. (Jedis are universally Bad At Feelings, but Anakin is on another level entirely.) Obi-Wan replies with "It is absolutely about you". That puts Anakin off-balance and lets Obi-Wan take the upper-hand again. Then the three of them have a serious conversation. THEN I GUESS THEY KILL PALPATINE AND RULE THE GALAXY IDK

Hahaha, yes.

I never thought about Anakin not going full Vader if he hadn't fought Obi-Wan, but yeah, now that you say that obviously at the very least he wouldn't have the physical damage from falling into the lava etc.
