Fandom Snowflake Days 06 to 10

Day 6
In your own space, create your own challenge. What’s something you want to see more people doing in fandom? Is there something you’ve tried that you think other people would enjoy if they gave it a go? Dare your friends to try it out, and have fun with it. Leave a comment in this post saying you did it. Include a link to your post if you feel comfortable doing so.
Write treats! I think people should try writing treats in exchanges, it's lots of fun and you get to make someone happy. Win/win!
Day 7
In your own space, share a favorite piece of original canon (a TV episode, a song, a favorite interview, a book, a scene from a movie, etc) and explain why you love it so much. Leave a comment in this post saying you did it. Include a link to your post if you feel comfortable doing so.
Hey, remember that time we got canon confirmation Loki in Agent of Asgard wrote fic?

What "terrible slash" entails is still a mystery, though. Any guesses?
Day 08
Comment to someone you haven't ever interacted with before or introduce yourself to someone you've interacted with and friend/follow them. Afterwards, leave a comment in this post with the equivalent of "I did it!"
'Sup?
Day 09
In your own space, set some goals for the coming year. They can be fannish or not, public or private. Leave a comment in this post saying you did it. Include a link to your post if you feel comfortable doing so.
I need to do a proper post about my goals for this year and how I managed with my goals for last year, but in the mean time, have some fandom related goals.
Day 10
In your own space, post a rec for fannish and/or creative resources and spaces. Tell us where you go to dig up canon facts for your fandom, or where you get all the juicy details about your favorite ship. Where do you like to hang out and squee like a squeeing thing? Leave a comment in this post saying you did it. Include a link to your post if you feel comfortable doing so.
go_write is going to accept new members soon. Come and join us, it's cozy over there.

Date: 2016-01-12 10:38 pm (UTC)I have no idea what Loki's fandoms are but pff. PFFF.
"Post some fics without (external) deadlines"
Perhaps we should form a buddy system. [/chinhands] Deadlines without the exchange factor.

Date: 2016-01-13 09:59 pm (UTC)Maybe we should! What were you thinking?

Date: 2016-01-13 10:01 pm (UTC)Wouldn't have to be anything new, either; could be something that's already in progress, as long as it gets done and posted.
Right now I'm tied up with Chocobox, so it'd have to wait until that's over... I dunno' if you have anything coming up?

Date: 2016-01-13 01:07 am (UTC)(Even when old!Loki was Lady!Loki she seemed pretty eager to stop pretending and go back to male, but also that lines up with when she first started laying plans to change who Loki was, so that might even have been built into the plan from then; that part of the person they made themself into to fill the role of Thor's archenemy when Thor fell to Midgard required fitting into a certain kind of genderedness, and getting rid of that is an important step of remaking themself, and being lady!Loki for awhile was something they needed to do in order to get close enough to start to do what they needed to do.)
And of course the way you do that, if you're made of stories, and you have to use methods that the Allmother will not suspect, is by building a massive Loki slash fandom with tons of genderfuck fic and an army of fanpersons who will protest at any excuse that the genderfluid/genderqueer Loki they write about from the old stories and myths is obviously not the same person as supervillain Loki, omg, it's mythical okay, the supervillain Loki is just a pale shadow of the real Loki from the real myths. And, obvs, if you are a trickster god of stories, the way you build a massive slash fandom is by being a prolific and talented slash writer yourself.
(Especially given why he hacked the internet. It is exactly the kind of irony he'd like if he'd slashed it for the same reason...and got to confess it to Thor without Thor noticing.)

Date: 2016-01-14 10:44 pm (UTC)(The issue of Lady!Loki pre-Siege is complicated by the fact that it isn't Loki's body. It's Loki possessing Sif's body so Sif will die a mortal death, so I'm hesitant to use it as any sort of evidence of Loki's gender issues. That said, I seem to remember Doom being unsurprised at Loki being suddenly female.)
I'm 100% adopting the idea that Loki created their own slash fandom as a means to change their story though. (Also the supervillain Loki is just a pale shadow of the real Loki from the real myths I resemble that remark, lmao. Also also, some time ago you asked me about my feelings about Agent of Asgard. They're here.)
