Omg, folkloric detectives extraordinaires! I'm not even kidding, this is what I want to be now. BRB, I have to go print out a hundred business cards.
This is so intriguing - that last line gave me shivers, and I love the idea of a creature that bleeds sound - is that yours?
I could have used a bit more atmospheric description - the whole passage from the fossegrim's POV was lovely, but not knowing what Ask/Embla looked like until he described them was... odd.
And speaking of the fossegrim - a more detailed explanation of what a fossegrim is would have been useful (I had to look it up on wikipedia, and it would have been easy to shove in a scene where Ask+Embla research and come up with their summoning) The scene where Embla plays with the him was very evocative though!
And I love Ask-first-thing-in-the-morning, and her hopeless attempt to make the coffee be tea already X) And I'm really interested in why Ask freaked out when they figured it was a fossegrim - is there more detail about this in the (unwritten-yet) rest of the series?
I enjoyed reading this, thanks!
(PS - I think your imbd link is broken - what were you trying to link?)
Edited because also! I love your word choice and I can't figure it out - you're Parisian, right? is English your first language or not? Either way, nicely done!
It just took me thirty seconds to find the comment button on your layout!
