1. Hippocrates was a supporter of abortion, actually, cf section 74 of Hippocrates' Diseases Of Women Book 1 called "To draw down the menses" and section 78 contains a bunch of purgatives for various uses from placenta to "Expulsion of the foetus from the uterus". (The bit in the Hippocratic Oath refers in the original Greek to a specific type of abortion, one by use of "a destructive pessary".)

2. I was listening to this podcast about the current state of psychiatry in France and one of the psychiatrists used the words "malades mentaux" (in context "people who are mentally ill") and WOW the force with which I was jarred out of skin by horror+terror+panic sure was something. Afaik, "mentally ill" is the appropriate English phrase to use, but if I never hear "malade mental" and assorted agreements) ever again, be it aimed specifically at me or just in general, it will be too soon. i'm totally chill with "mentally ill" though. What a difference language (and lived experience) makes, eh?
