worldbuildingex : an assignment, a pinch-hit and a treat.
LOOK I'M NOT SAYING THIS FIC IS BASICALLY "JYN ERSO, THE CAST OF ROGUE ONE AND THE CITY OF JEDHA DO THE PARIS COMMUNE"... but this fic is basically "Jyn Erso, the cast of Rogue One and the city of Jedha do the Paris Commune".
As befits a story about both Rogue One and the Paris Commune, everybody dies -- in the same way they die in Rogue One, even.
This assignment was enormous amounts of fun to write and the entire last scene was written in a kind of fugue state. This is the fic I mean when I said one of them was "glaringly, obviously mine": Paris Commune! Super strong friendships! Doing the right thing because it's the right thing to do! Tragedy! The difference between peace and justice!
The tag "original alternate versions of canon characters" is meant to indicate that the Gwen in the story is not 616!Gwen or any of the Gwen Stacy who have previousy appeared in Marvel canon, but she is still a Gwen Stacy. Comics, everybody.
All in all a great exchange. A++, will do again next year.
