I wrote some Star Wars
May. 9th, 2016 10:44 pmIt was recently
maythe4thbewithyou and I wrote three fics, much like I got three fics.
I was assigned to
lionessvalenti and I wrote them two fics.
Also guest-starring: Sabé and Obi-Wan being sort-of friends. It is my absolute headcanon that these two are friends. I have a fic in the works to that effect. (You're very surprised I'm writing friendship fic, I can tell.)
lionessvalenti -- I was going to post this as my assignment, but somehow manage to run out of time and be able to finish it for the assignment deadline. I did finish it before May 4 though, so I posted it as a treat.
It's the AU in which Obi-Wan and Anakin switch places in Attack of the Clones. (Also included: Sabé and Obi-Wan being friends. Also also included, an Eurovision joke.)
The conversation with my beta about this fic included such gems as "is this slice-y-of-life-y enough?" and "I told you Anakin was my go-to guy for comedy".
Title from Shakespeare's Tempest. From Ariel's "Full fathom five thy father lies,
Of his bones are coral made,
Those are pearls that were his eyes,
Nothing of him that doth fade,
But doth suffer a sea-change,
into something rich and strange" speech in act I, scene 2. (I believe this is the third fic I've written with a title from The Tempest, but the first one posted.)
The third fic I wrote was for
ancarett.
It was kind of last minute, because I had managed to miss that someone had requested an ANCIENT EGYPT AU until May 3, but apparently I am mad enough that I can pull off a short Ancient Egypt graverobber AU in less than a day.
It's not even a generic Ancient Egypt AU! It is set in a very specific time period -- could those end notes have been even longer? You bet your ass they could have been. But I figured that a) nobody reads Star wars fic for in-depth explanation of royal titulary in Ancient Egypt and b) for the most part my knowledge of Ancient Egypt is filtered through French, which can make it very frustrating as not every term that is translated nor every name transliterated the same way (Moyen Empire != Middle Empire, Moyen Empire = Middle Kingdom, Akhénaton = Akhenaten, etc). Special shout out to the non-Horus/Horus of Gold names, you suck, I hate you, please pick one translation, thanks.
Tomorrow marks the start of Eurovision, so that's what I'm doing this week. Eurovision.

I was assigned to
Respite (954 words) by sevenofspadeThis is not the scene from this AU I had originally planned to write, but rereading the letter my original idea didn't fit with the optional details. I think I'll end up writing the story of this verse at some point -- I do want to write a Padmé/Obi-Wan/Anakin fic.
