I went to do the Color Run today (no u because it was originally an US event, but that hurt to type). It's a 5k run where you get colour thrown at you every kilometer.
It's been ages since I need any kind of serious physical activity, because I've been having a lot of things to deal with. Recently, one particular thing ahs been eating my brainspace to a ridiculous extent. I don't have the brainpower to do much besides that one thing, and when I do get the brainpower for fannish things, Night on Fic Mountain modding takes priority. (It's been ages since I got to draw or read or write properly and that's never a good sign.)
Long story short, on Tuesday, a friend told me that another friend wouldn't be able to go and would I be interested? I said yes, because it sounded fun and I was hoping it'd clear my head a little.
Well, it was a lot of fun!
I didn't do a lot of running, but I did run at the start, at every colour point and at the finish line. Call it something like 10-20%? I finished though, which was good, as my knee gave out on the way to the burger place where me and the other people in our 'team' went to eat.
I tried to get as much colour on me as possible, because why the hell not, you know? That's kind of the whole point (that and the benefits being given to a charity I like). I spend 20+ minutes showering after and not all of it's gone, hahaha.
I did not, however, do the whole thing dressed as a Roman, with laurel wreath and scarlet cloak. Some people did (pics tomorrow). There were a lot of people dressed up one way or another, but only the Romans stuck with me and they're the only ones I have pics (well, one) of.
I really enjoyed the sense of comradery that was shared with everyone in the race. Also, that bit where we teamed up to get green in V's hair, that was a lot of fun (VENGEANCE IS MINE).
Additionally, if you've never had people decked in half a pound of coloured powder give you life advice over burgers, you're missing out.
TL;DR: Really fun, muscles hurt, must sleep now.
