I throw away the floaters and do all the things too. I know it's not ideal, but all that incremental learning stuff, who has time???
I like that colour scheme: will be interested to see how you develop the shadows.
(Also, the way Obi-wan has what looks like a glowing exclamation mark over his head is amusing. And quite appropriate. :-D )
