i came out to have a good time and i'm honestly feeling so attacked right now

Taylor Swift didn't need to come for my throat like that! "Midnights become my afternoons", "my depression works the graveyard shift", "I’m the problem, it’s me", "I’m a monster on the hill / Too big to hang out", "my covert narcissism I disguise as altruism", "I’ll stare directly at the sun but never in the mirror" (et tu, body dysmorphia?)...

I know there's a music video and I usually link those but unfortunately there is Discourse about said music video and what I have seen of said Discourse is both very stupid and triggering (to me) so I would rather forget the Discourse exists, please and thank you.

This album is really growing on me -- at first I thought it was good but kind of samey, but it rewards re-listening (a lot of her songs do). I just can't get over

Sometimes I feel like everybody is a sexy baby
And I'm a monster on the hill
Too big to hang out
Slowly lurching toward your favorite city
Pierced through the heart but never killed

and her delivery on the repeated "Tale as old as time"! Augh.

(I loved the video and I am really sad there is very stupid Discourse about it. Blah.)

I need to listen to that album a few more times before I can really vibe with it, but I've liked what I've heard so far.

I have had this song stuck in my head for DAYS. “When my depression works the graveyard shift” - STAB ME IN THE HEART WHY DON’T YOU.

I love love love the way this song is drenched in vocal harmonies. It’s an angelic choir and an obsessive compulsive disorder all at once.

It feels weird to call Taylor Swift underrated because she's, you know, Taylor Swift, but she is just so good at what she does.

Cleaning up old tabs: somehow I had missed this song until now but yes, it is very good.
