A meme

Taken from [livejournal.com profile] wordsofastory and [livejournal.com profile] somebraveapollo :

1. Comment with any character you know I've written.*
2. Receive three bits of trivia about their sexuality: practices, preferences, experiences, fantasies, kinks, etc.
3. Profit!

*I haven't written all that much, so you can ask about characters I'm familiar with instead.

I really can't decide between Hannibal and Scipio... but let's go with Hannibal. :)

Here's Hannibal, and I did Scipio downthread for [livejournal.com profile] wordsofastory.

1. He's not that into sex. He enjoys it, but he doesn't really seek it out. Partly it's because he has other things on his mind, partly it's because he can order around most of the people he interacts with and partly it's because that's just how he is. He does enjoy flirting with people, especially as a way to mess with their heads, though. He rarely follows through. But he did try to seduce Scipio in Ephesus.

2. Mago and Hasdrubal are responsible for his first time. They took him to a brothel in the hopes that it would help him chill out. It didn't work. Turns out 'frighteningly intense' is Hannibal's default state. Their reaction was pretty much "Father must never find out".

3. He never loved his wife, but he really liked her and enjoyed her company. He tried to be as kind as he could to her, but he never got completely rid of the impression that she was doing it only out of obligation. (She wasn't.) When he left New Carthage to march on Rome, he left her behind and told himself it was the best for her. He misses her, because she was well-read and called him out on his shit.

(Bonus Scipio headcanon: Like almost everyone in Rome, he has fantasy of deflowering one of the Vestal virgins.)

I want Scipio, then!

1. He's attracted to both men and women and he used to have the worst angst about that. At first, he decided not to do anything about his attraction to men. Then he overheard people calling him a cinaedus and he decided that if people where going to talk anyway, he might as well not make liars out of them. He always kept his affairs with men very discreet, to the point where most people didn't think there was any truth to the rumours, that people just said that because he was pretty. Despite this, it took him a very long time to stop being ashamed.

2. He never went to a slave or a prostitute for sex or any of the war prisoners. He was afraid of what he would allow himself to do if given totally reign in a sexual encounter, especially with a man. He thought he would do something he'd regret and/or be ashamed of later. It also never quite sat right by him, the idea that he would be in complete control. especially since sometimes he doesn't want to be in control at all.

3. He's the one who invited Hannibal to his room in Ephesus.
