I'm back!

What I did while I was away: sleeping, reading, sleeping, blackberry jam, sleeping. Seriously, I must have slept something like fifteen hours a day? 15 hours a night + 3 hours of siesta = 15 hours. I don't understand why I'm still tired. HOW?!

I also did a lot of reading. I finished a bunch of things, averaging about one a day, although a lot of it was comics and BDs, details forthcoming.

I did not finish Ghost of Cannae, because I am very very bad at reading non-fiction. I just keep stopping and highlighting bits and going "I need to put this aside for a bit while I think about it". I do this with everything! Whether it's Ghosts of Cannae or Rome's Revolution or Trickster Makes This World, every time I read non-fiction I end up highlighting at least one thing on every page. And we're talking ebook pages with a bigger-than-average size font, here. (Y'all should see what my paper copy of Métronome looks like. So many post-its!) Idk whether it's because I'm very very stupid or the books are very very interesting or something else, but I end up having to read tiny chunks at the time if I want to process things properly.

Also, I apparently became a "great historical specialist" ("la grande spécialiste historique Dhampyresa") while I was away, so that's nice. Where can I collect my award? (Just kidding. I ordered Le Graal de l'InfraMonde already. I was looking for info on when Book 3 was coming out, which is TBD.)

Also also, I was tired of feeling like I'd written fuck all since July started, so I wrote a fic on the train back.

(Untagged, because I find it very dubious that anyone would go looking for Kid Paddle fic on Ao3.)

Re: highlighting, if I didn't do most of my reading from paperbooks with no access to stickies, I would probably be the same. It's probably just because it's so interesting! And sometimes one just needs to digest it before moving on.

Welcome back! I'm glad you had a relaxing holiday, even if you still need to catch up on sleep.

I don't really read (either fiction or non-fiction) like you, in that I tend to devour books of all kind as quickly as possible, but I do have a tendency to stop and note down particularly meaningful quotes. I have so many little notebooks that I've been filling up with quotes since I was still in primary school.

Ha ha ! J'ai dit que j'allais lire les AU, donc j'ai lu le AU, sauf que je ne connais pas 7 Wonders, ni Kid Paddle, alors je ne sais pas trop ce que j'ai lu. Enfin, ils vont sortir ensemble, c'est l'essentiel. :-)

7wonders est un jeu de plateau où tu joue une des Sept Merveilles du monde antique. Il est compliqué à expliquer sur la seule théorie. Il faut vraiment pratiquer.

Kid paddle est une BD sur des gamins qui jouent à des jeux.
