I'm still mad about a fight with a friend and so I am particularly crotchety and unsociable lately. Just imagine a cat hiding under furniture and hissing or clawing at anyone coming near and that's basically me.

We don't know each other. I was attracted by the investigation into the toga cost, and I started reading older entries. Is it too rude to ask whether the binder in the link is actually much different from a tight sports bra?

I suppose that'd depend on how tight the sports bra is and how squishable your breast tissue is. I have a size M and my chest wraparound goes from 93cm to 84cm -- I'm a somewhat serious swimmer though so my chest and back muscles are bigger than average (best description I can come up with is that invisible unflexed but visible flexed). A good comparaison would be that the binder compresses roughly as much as pressing on my chest with both hands interlinked as much as possible. Hope this makes and is useful!
