I have a new MP3 player now

I have this thing I do when I'm under stress where I just... pull back, curl in on myself, stop interacting with people. I've known for a while that I fall (back) into Unhelpful Bad Habits when stressed, but I've only recently identified this one. Something to work on, I suppose.

Aside from, like, work, my most significant social interaction over the past week has pretty much been being overly invested in Dracula on main. Justice for Quincey Morris!

Main sources of external stress lately:
- My MP3 player broke (after ten or so years of daily use). The world is A Lot, I can't tune out sounds and am sensitive to noise so I basically live with headphones/music on 24/7. Commuting these past few weeks has been kinda nightmarish. I know it sounds silly but this is Really Important to me.
- I HAVE AN INTERN NOW WHAT THE FUCK Y'ALL -- okay my team has an intern, but he's on one of my projects soooooooooo I hope the CEO's nephew enjoys being mentored by Scooby-Doo.

Internal causes of stress: Due to the aforementioned Unhelpful Bad Habits, pretty much; let us speak no more of this.

Quincey is such a love! Much better than drippy Arthur or the creepy doctor. I think he's the only one who vows friendship to her, isn't he? "Why can’t they let a girl marry three men, or as many as want her, and save all this trouble?"

Thankfully I could access music-from-computer at work and home so I was not totally musicless, because idk how I would have survived THAT.

I like the creepy doctor (because I like creepy characters) but Quincey is absolutely lovely and yet so often left out of adaptations?!

Yeah, when I couldn't listen to music back when I had the horrible ear infection this past summer, T said he was scared for my mental health. Bleah.

That is not silly at all. I wear earplugs for similar reasons. I hope you can get a new player soon.

I bought one last Saturday, actually -- and stumped the vendor by asking what file transfer protocol it used. (I run Linux, so I gotta check those things. it was fine, btw.)

Yeah it is a tough one to combat since forcing yourself into social experiences sounds the worst... yet once out and about I generally enjoy myself so I try to trick myself into going out. Brains could work better. Much better.
