You are more generous-spirited than I am, because there are times when someone leaves feedback on a story of mine that I don't think is that good, and rather than "It's not that bad, yay!" my (internal) reaction is "No, you fool, there are much better stories over there!" It's especially bad when I post one story fairly close on the heels of another and the story that I think is better gets significantly less feedback.
But, you know, that's one part of me; mostly I am happy whenever someone reads (or listens to, or looks at, even, though I haven't done much in the way of fanart) something I made and cares enough to let me know what they thought, even when it's a flame. (To be fair, I've only gotten a handful of flames, and they weren't all that nasty; probably I would have less fondness of them were either of those things not the case.)
But I definitely agree that there's an extra frisson when someone leaves feedback on something for a very small fandom, especially one that is close to one's heart. There's an element of "YOU LIKE THIS THING TOO LET ME CLASP YOU TO MY BOSOM"
