I find it offensive in general to tell people who are getting death and rape threats that the problem is that they're not brave enough and they should suck it up. Dragging in WWII makes it even worse. My entire people nearly got exterminated, which ought to trump her grandma, but I'm not going to get sucked into "my historical trauma is worse than yours" one-upmanship.
