Sleeping Wednesday

What did you finish reading

FUCK ALL Between the night classes and other RL stuff and Camp Nanowrimo, I don't really have time to read.

What are you reading

Fire Logic, by Laurie Marks: I'm on chapter 5 and 15 years have already passed since chapter 1, in a weird mix of fast-forwards, overly tell-y scenes and really cool scenes, so idk. I think the story might finally be about to start!

What will you read next

I just don't know! The books I am eagerly awaiting release for are Darkness Over Cannae, Crimson Angel (next book in the Benjamin January series) and Blood of Olympus (next book in the Heroes of Olympus series), but they're not out yet which is why I am "eagerly awaiting release" not "eagerly reading".

I still haven't finished Hannibal's Odyssey or a bunch of other books, most of them in French.

I really want to read/xrite/throw the idea out there of a book called "Last King of Egypt" that would be about Hashepsut, because the first ruler of Egypt to call himself Pharaoh was her nephew Tutmosis III.

Also! You know how we call this the Latin alphabet? It was actually invented by Phoenicians, so HAHAHA SUCK IT ROMANS.

I should read the Epic of Gilgamesh.

I also CAN'T WAIT for Crimson Angel! Ahhh, why so slow, publishing world?

I read excerpts from Gilgamesh in my high school literature class. It's pretty entertaining! Though that probably depends heavily on the translator.

I would totally be into a "Last King of Egypt". I think there are a few novels about her, though I haven't read any of them.

Because Reasons, I think.

I'll try to pick a good translation. L'aube des peuples' transaltion of the Kalevala is excellent, so I'll probably get theirs.

I'll have to look into it when I've had more sleep, then.
