I too have a lot of "Were you not already doing that?!" syndrome with decluttering/organizing/minimalism stuff. Also if I am already doing all the strategies, why is my house still so cluttered?? (Answer: I had to learn the strategies already because my house is full of clutter. Maybe if you do not come from a family of packrats you made it to age 12 without having to learn it all in self=defense so as to not smother under a pile of Objects? Do not relate.)
There was a lot in Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up I strongly disagreed with, but in her defense, also some things I hadn't thought of and still use. And she has actually come around and admitted she was wrong and she learned better about a lot of what I disagreed with! (She's talked in interviews about the 'throwing out family members' stuff' thing and how it's become one of her greatest regrets.)
