The name rings a bell, but I couldn't have told you more than that without looking him up.

(Having looked him up: yes, I'm sure I heard his name as part of the contextualizing of some other Négritude authors whose works I read in French classes, and probably in looking up stuff about Senegal now and again. One of the many countries I really should know more about than I do.)
