(I'm also not sure I would use the phrase Stockholm Syndrome because . . . political hostage-taking like that is not exactly the same as modern kidnapping? I don't know the exact circumstances in this case, but in many places and for a long time it was an accepted social institution, so . . . I mean I'd say in many ways it was a closer parallel to like, sending your kid to boarding school than what we think of when we say "kidnapping.")
